This article tries to answer the following:

What are the best blog sites with the most traffic?

What are the marketing tactics you must avoid?

I'm sure that my list is not the "perfect one" but works for me.

Best Way to Market Your Business Online

  1. Create your own site and blog & post-high-quality content regularly. Take into consideration that a blog not only helps your company get its name out through followers but is a way to connect with your consumers more directly.

  2. Market your content on Medium & Quora. Both media are not a direct marketing tool, you are not selling in Quora or Medium but helps you to get credit and get traffic to your web site and blogs. Quora can be one of the major traffic sources for almost any business if done wisely. It has a long term effect – even a year after you posted an answer, people can still find it, which will lead to potentially more traffic to your website.

  3. Embrace social media. Build a strong social media presence a daily activity, content marketing remains the best-selling tactic for promoting businesses online it is a must activity.

  4. SEO your website and blog. Search engine optimization is a long, but efficient way to reach the highest position in search engine search results organically, without paying for ads.

  5. Join Facebook and LinkedIn groups. Facebook Pages are an excellent way to market your business.

  6. Post to Instagram & YouTube. YouTube provides a free way to distribute creative promotional videos, but in order to succeed you must put up content that people want to view and are relevant to your business

  7. Create your own Facebook group. Facebook Pages are an excellent way to market your business, algorithm changes in Facebook’s platform can have a big impact on how many people actually see your posts

  8. Generate website traffic with Pinterest. Take into consideration that Pinterest, is a focused social media network which audience is 80% women, It is a wonderful platform to advertise your blog as long as you are sure your service/product could be interesting for the female audience.

  9. Build Your Email List & Send Emails Regularly. Effective marketing emails could convert interested users into customers, and turn one-time buyers into loyal. Email content must be positive content is more shareable, practicable, people like sharing practical information.

  10. Collaborate with popular bloggers/partners in your niche. Actively contribute with bloggers, passively promote your business by putting a link in your signature or mentioning it only when the context is appropriate. Another way is "Cross-promotion" which means partnering with another business to create a promotion that benefits both of you.

  11. Keyword research. Keyword research is one of the most crucial and strategic parts of search engine optimization and marketing.

  12. Advertising vs Posting in social media. Advertising refers to paid advertisements or ads. Posting refers to generating free content on your social media platforms. It is very difficult, although not impossible, to grow a business only using a free content strategy. The algorithms and business models of social media platforms these days have a bias toward paid advertising. In years gone by you would have been able to grow a business significantly by only making use of organic growth through posting good content.

What are the marketing tactics you must avoid?

Today any business owner understands the importance of having a strong presence. Making your business available to your potential customers is the first and foremost task for your marketing team. In this task you must choose good tactics, so try to avoid the following tactics.

#1: Selling Products, Not Solutions

Customers know that they have any kind of problems that they want someone to solve. Customers want to hear about how you are going to solve their problem, not about the services you provide, or who is using your product/solutions.

#2: Talking About Yourself

Potential customers don’t care about you, your products or services. Customers or potential customers like to ask questions, they are ready to listen. They want to know how YOU SOLVE their problem or they care about is how you can help them.

#3: Features / Specifications of your products

Really nobody care, which processor or the material or the colors that the products were. When you present your products, present the benefits of the products, not its features.

#4: Trying to be everywhere

I heard many times customers saying " It is a must be on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, publishing blogs and sending emails". After a while they don't recognize "that they never meet their goals". The answer to this must be " Put your focus in one or two things, to reach your goals "
